Whirlpool matters because brewing is a chain of cause and effect. Ingredient composition, process timing, temperature, oxygen exposure, pH, sanitation, and yeast performance all change what reaches the glass. Applied evaluation

When evaluating a beer, treat trub separation and late-hop handling as one possible source, not a guess. Link the observation to evidence: high roast plus dry finish suggests dark roasted grain; cooked-corn aroma in a pale lager may suggest DMS; sharp astringency can point to tannin extraction, water, or process issues. State what would confirm the inference and what other causes remain plausible.
